When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive:

We use this information solely to identify your account and enable features like family sharing.

Financial Data

You enter transaction data including:

• Transaction amounts and dates
• Descriptions and categories
• Budget amounts and savings goals
• Store and merchant names

This data belongs to you and is used only to provide the App's functionality.

Receipt Images

If you use receipt scanning:

• Images are processed to extract transaction details
• Images are stored securely in your account
• Only you and your family members (if sharing is enabled) can access them

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the App. This does not include your financial information.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and sync your budget data across your devices
• To enable family sharing when you invite members
• To process receipts for automatic transaction entry
• To improve App features and performance

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase, which provides:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
• Encryption at rest (AES-256)
• Secure data centers in the United States
• Regular security audits and compliance certifications

Family Sharing

When you enable family sharing:

• You create or join a family group
• Transaction and category data syncs with all family members
• You can leave a family at any time
• The family owner controls membership and can remove members

You have full control over whether to participate in family sharing.

Third-Party Services

We use these trusted services to operate the App:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, database, and cloud storage
• Apple Sign-In — Authentication option
• RevenueCat — Subscription and purchase management
• Google Cloud Vision — Receipt text extraction (OCR)

Each service has its own privacy policy and security measures. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access — View all your data within the App
• Export — Download your transaction history
• Delete — Remove your account and all associated data from the Account screen
• Opt out — Leave family sharing at any time

Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
• Deleted accounts: Data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Backups: Removed from backup systems within 90 days

Children's Privacy

Clear Budgeting is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Users

Your data is processed and stored in the United States. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
